Mother's Day Project {One Dollar Gift}

My third grade kiddos finished their Mother's Day project yesterday.  Because my kids travel through both of our third grade classrooms it is hard to get them done quickly. But they are done :) Wrapped, ready to go. a. week. early. #ithasneverhappennedbefore

I have updated this product a bit.  You know you need one, right?  ;)
If you have it already go get the new version (do not forget to leave me some love).

Start with a one-dollar photo album. Choose the prompts you like your students to complete (36 to choose from), wrap using tissue paper, a gift tag, and some tulle. #mothersdaykeepsake

These are some portraits created this year:

I asked my daughter to help me create an album for me.  The truth is... I wanted to see what she would say about mommy. Here are a few of her answers.

Would you help me pin this product?

Thanks for visiting,

Mother's Day Album

Our presents for Mother's Day are done!  Wrapped and ready to go.  I can hardly believe it.
I am a week early...pinch me :)

Check out these beautiful women! We started with a front and back cover using card stock.

I purchased photo albums from Dollar Tree, tissue paper, and tulle.

The kids wrote about their moms using a variety of prompts.

They  illustrated each prompt, cut them out, added them to each album, and told me ALL of their mom's secrets.  I know it all by now :)

I updated my product a bit and it will be on sale for 48 hours :)

What did you make for your kiddos' moms?

I am choosing two friends to get this. All you have to do it is Pin it to Win it :)  Don't forget to leave your e-mail and your pin... along with your comment.  I love reading your comments!

Mother's Day Album and Sale.

I finished it. Our 2013 Mother's Day project is done!.
I instagramed (that is a new verb found in the dictionary...somewhere) last night when I could not work on it any more. My bump hurt. Now it is all done with pictures and student samples.

Wait until you see these cuties.
I know the moms are going to love it.
Find it HERE :)
I purchased 24 photo albums at the Dollar Store (Dollar Tree in our town).
I created small prompts for the kids to write about their mom. Each prompt has a frame where students illustrated the answer. There are 40 prompts to use depending on what you like. There will be some empty photo pockets. For that, I had asked the kids to bring pictures of their moms to include.
I printed the pages. Cut in half and had the kids cut around the edges. Insert on the right side pocket of the album.
One of my favorite pages.

What is a mom?
- A person who has a baby or more.
- A person who takes care of you and cooks for the family.
- A person who takes care of you and loves you.
- A person who cooks dinner.
- Someone who took care of you when you were little.
- A person who cares for you.
- A mom is sometimes sweet and sometimes not.
- A person that takes care of  you and loves you.
- A loving caring person who takes care of you everyday.
- A nice person who has patience.
- A person who gives birth to babies.
- A girl who raises you as a child.
- A person who loves their kids and will give you all you need.
- A person who loves you and gave birth to you.

It sounds like my kids are very well loved, doesn't it?

I am pretty happy with our latest project. Mother's Day Album will be a hit with all of our amazing moms!

And now...get ready for the sale!  My graphics "wish list" is long. I am hoping to score some great deals. My little store will be 20% plus the sale TPT provides on top of that.
Thanks for Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah Designs for the button and her amazing graphics!

Mother's Day Gifts and Favorite Read Alouds

We finished our Mother's Day presents yesterday. Next week... I promise to have a productive week :)
I went to Michael's and got some 2" key chains. The kids drew a teeny tiny portrait of their moms (front) and a cute You hold the key to my heart (back).

Our final beauties looked like this:

We also did some writing after they completed a mom's questionnaire... wrote some sentences...drew another portrait and voila'.

Run! Ms. Nelson's Got the Camera and is hosting her first linky party. Come and share your favorite read alouds!
Here are some of mine :)

My kids L-O-V-E when I read any of the Skippy JonJones books.  I get to use my 'real' Mexican accent and they tell me I sound "grrreat!

7 weeks to go!
